TRIFECTA
This trio/quartet was born out of desire to play with excellent musicians! The trio was formed first, with Chris Loser, Steve Fieldhouse, a graduate of The University of North Texas (a breeding ground for great jazz musicians), and Colin Kenniff, Lancaster's best young bass player!! They began meeting on a weekly basis and started writing new and original material. Colin wins for writing 3-5 songs, A DAY!!!! Needless to say great musicians inspire great music, and great music begs to be played... in any format. So they decided to add a member to the group and make it a quartet. The fourth member was Colin's twin brother, Keith, a drummer with the keenest sense of time and subtlety for jazz, but with the chops of a pro rock drummer! The Trifecta Quartet was born. Musically, they decided with 2 drummers, it could have more of a 'backbeat-ish' feel. So they began writing for this new format, and recorded 13 songs in total with the 2 drummers. The latest recording was August of 2003. The band is currently on hiatus while the twins are in Boston, attending the Berklee College of Music.

VISTA
(Bio stolen from the Vista website)
The story begins in North Carolina with a young college
graduate by the name of Phil Newman. Phil, a guitarist with a knack for writing
dense, haunting chord progressions, tasted the thrill of live performance by
getting the opportunity to open up for touring sensation Howie Day. From that
night on, Phil knew that rock 'n roll was in his blood and now all he needed was
a band.
After careful thought on how to go about forming this group, his first move was
to call his brother Jason, a pianist and composer making his living as a
musician eight hours away in Eastern Pennsylvania. Inspired by the idea of
forming an original group and inspired by the prospect of creating new music,
Jason immediately signed on and set out to help find the missing members.
Next to join the group was Mike Wittrien. His incredible bass technique was
already well known to jazz and session performers throughout Eastern
Pennsylvania, and Mike had been honing his skills on the upright bass for the
last three years. Intrigued by the possibility of trying some of his unique
ideas out on the electric bass and having known Jason from various gigs and
mutual friends, he decided to give it a shot.
Meanwhile two hours West in York, Pennsylvania, Chris Loser
was rapidly making a name for himself as the area's most versatile and sought
after drummer. Comfortable playing in any style with a rock solid sense of time,
Chris was the perfect choice for the new group. Jason and Mike presented him
with the opportunity and Chris jumped at the chance to perform with musicians he
admired and considered good friends. All the pieces were set, now all VISTA
needed was a voice.
After a year of trying various singers, the Newman brothers stumbled upon a
charismatic singer-songwriter named Andrew Lipke in a tiny coffee shop in
Philadelphia. Little did they know that Andrew had just spent a year on a solo
tour after spending the last five leading the critically acclaimed band 'Metagroove'
in performances throughout the East Coast. Having recently been missing the
excitement and energy of Rock 'n Roll, Andrew had been itching to put a band
together. But where was he going to find a group of experienced and talented
musicians with the drive and dedication needed to make it in the music industry?
Not being one to let an opportunity pass by, Phil picked up a copy of Andrew's self-produced album and upon listening to it immediately called him to see if he was interested in joining VISTA. Blown away by the impeccable timing and uncanny coincidence of the offer, Andrew decided to take a chance. The five guys immediately hit it off and within three months had completed a self-produced four-song demo.

THE SOLO ACT
I'm a closet piano and guitar player, and I can screw them up like you wouldn't believe. Most of these songs began as little idea snippets.
Some grew, and some didn't... but writing music (even bad music) is important and fun for me.
